A Poem

10/22/2017

So this was a poem I scribbled down on a tattered sheet of notebook paper in the middle of boot camp. I don't usually write poetry, ever, but when you have hours upon hours to think, you strike some creative gold sometimes! Wasn't sure if I wanted to share it or not, but I figure ... why not?

Let me know what you think.

Does She Search?

Does she search for me, as I search for her?
‘Neath fiery skies of amber, where the sun dies
Like a phoenix, to be reborn?
Does she search for me, as I search for her?
Through rain slicked streets, and crowd-packed avenues
Which reflect the light of a waning moon?
Does she search for me, as I search for her?
I wonder.
Does she watch that dying sun, does she watch that waning moon
And ask if I’m watching too?
I wonder.
No.
I know she does.
I know she searches, endlessly like I.
‘Neath the fiery skies, through the rain-slicked streets.
We search endlessly for each other, chasing, as the dying sun chases the waning moon.
Unknown to one another, for now.
A face in the crowd-packed avenue.
Until we meet.
Until the sun catches the moon, and is reborn
Like a phoenix, and knows…
We search.

    POSTING SCHEDULE

I post on this blog rather sporadically as some of you may have noticed! As I balance out writing with "the day job" I will do my best to post more consistently.
